Problem
As a Kindle reader juggling many books at a time, wouldn’t it be nice to quickly dive into your current selection and pick up where you left off with a delightfully un-distracting reading experience?

Role
I produced these mockups and presentation on a condensed timeline (four days) to showcase my product design skills for a potential employer.

Outcome
While I have no illusions about understanding all the complexity that has gone into the Mac app design in the wild, I liked my solution set and have enjoyed seeing some of the concepts incorporated into the product over the years, including updated reading controls and status indicators.

X-factor
Looking back on this project five years later, it still reflects the basic process I’d go through today, but I’d leave a little bit more time for testing. I still recommend Food Rules and Dark Matter if you haven’t read them.
